We’ll deal with the Torontos and Niggas without compromise – Juba City Mayor

The Administration of Juba City Council has directed the organized forces to deal with gangsters commonly known as “Toronto Boys” without compromise to improve the Security Situation in the city.

Speaking to journalists after his first security meeting with the heads of organized forces on Thursday this week, Mayor Kalisto Lado Faustino says the Toronto Boys and Niggas are a security threat to the lives of people especially women in the capital Juba city.

Mayor Kalisto Ladu said, “We have also directed the security organs to see into it that Toronto Boys and Niggas are dealt with without compromise because they are posing a threat to the lives of our people. Women on bodaboda, in the car and walking on the streets, they confiscate their handbags and hair wigs. These are threats. Many people have died because of their deeds. They cut people with pangas.”

“So Toronto boys wherever you are, you better cease from your activities because from now on, your mission is under threat. The administration of Juba City Council and all the security organs are out to face you so that our people are free from your filthy activities,” he added.

However, Kalisto urges the Public to cooperate with the Security Organs to assist in the execution of the directive.

“My message to the citizens of South Sudan is that they must cooperate with the security organs. Security is a responsibility of all. Citizens have to inform the security organs in the sectors, police stations, security offices so that they are able to take a quick response.”

On their part, the security organs raised concerns including difficulty in mobility, indiscipline, and lack of refresher trainings.

Brigadier Zakaria Michael Taban, Chief Inspector of the Central Police Division assured the mayor that citizens shall enjoy relative calm across Juba City in the coming weeks as they shall be cracking down on the activities of the Toronto boys and niggas.

“Juba City Mayor, His Worship Kalisto Ladu assured the forces that there is political will from the country’s top leadership to ensure their capacity is built and improved.”Said Brigadier Zakaria.

“Toronto” boys and “Niggas” are local names given to gangsters in Juba City who execute crimes such as daylight robbery and in some cases killings.

They work in groups and in rare cases as individuals.
