Investors from the United Arab Emirates are expected in South Sudan to discuss areas of potential investments, Information Minster Michael Makuei Lueth said.

President Salva Kiir visited the Arab country recently and discussed areas of potential investments, especially in the mineral resources.

“The team of business and government will be coming to sit down and negotiate with government of South Sudan in various areas of interest,” Lueth told reporters after a cabinet meeting on Friday.

He said key areas the investors will discuss will be in the crude production, mining electricity and agriculture.

“There are a lot minerals in south Sudan which are not exploited and the Emirates business people are very much concerned and interested in coming to South Sudan for investment in this areas,” he said.

“The president directed the cabinet to get prepared, especially in the areas of concern to get prepared and come up with Bankable projects so that when this team comes from the Arab Emirates it will be presented to them so that the can decided which one to take.”
