A Sudanese airline, Sun Air Aviation has resumed flight to South Sudan capital Juba after ten years.

The airline’s Air Bus A330-200 touched down at Juba International Airport at 2:00 pm local time on its inaugural flight to Juba on Monday.

Sun Air’s Head of Business Development, Mohamed Saifeldin M. Saad Omer led a team of executives and aviation officials from Khartoum.

Omer told the media in Juba that Sun Air will not only boost trade and investment between the two sisterly countries but also build capacity.

Sun Air Aviation launched in Juba with assistance from On Time Aviation Services, a ground handler in the South Sudanese capital.

“The trust entrusted in us by Sun Air sends a strong signal to other investors in the region and beyond that though a young country, South Sudan has the right brains and capacity to handle complex services,” Ceaser Michaya, the Chief Executive and Managing Director of On Time Aviation Services said.

The launch was graced by the CEO of South Sudan Civil Aviation Authority David Subek Dada and several other players in the Aviation Industry in South Sudan.
