South Sudan’s Journalists Union to launch its website on Saturday

The newly elected executive members of the Union of Journalists of South Sudan (UJOSS) is set to launch its website on June 12, two weeks after the formation of the new body.

It is the first of its kind the Alliance is starting to implement its manifestos as they pledged during the General Assembly’s convention last month in Juba.

“The new leadership of the Union of Journalists of South Sudan presents its compliments and has the honor to invite the media practitioners and the general public for the launch of its website on June 12,” said Oyet Patrick Charles, the President of the Union in a statement.

In May late, the journalists elected its new leadership to govern the Union for the next five years. 

This was later followed by the formation of the full executive body on June 2, after the elections were held.

The group had promised to work for the welfare of the media practitioners across the country.

Nevertheless, the Saturday’s launch is the start of the Union’s activities as they pledged by then. 

The event expected to be graced by Michael Makuei Lueth, the national Minister of Information, Communication and Postal services will take place at Juba Regency Hotel in Juba.  

South Sudan’s Journalists Union is a professional platform for media practitioners, formed in 2004 to defend the rights of media folks across the country.
