President Kiir orders armed forces to stay out of politics

President Salva Kiir Mayardit has this evening ( 31st December 2021), issued a Republican Order No. 27/2021 for the prohibition of all active Officers and non- commissioned officers (NCOs) in South Sudan People’s Defence Forces (SSPDF) and Other Regular Forces from participating in politics, leadership of Respective communities, youth or women organisations, the order further prohibits all active officers, non-commissioned officers (NCOs) in all the armed forces of South Sudan from the promotion of propaganda and hate speech on social media platforms.

President Kiir’s order was read on the state owned South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC)
