President Kiir encourages Investors to come to South Sudan

President Salva Kiir Mayardit during his visit to the United Arab Emirates encouraged more investors to come and invest in South Sudan according the presidency.

 “The President’s visit to the United Arab Emirates is to encourage more investors to come to the Republic of South Sudan and I think that is a great signal, the peace is being implemented, there will be stability, this country will now embark on development” The Minister in the Office of the president, Dr. Barnaba Marial Benjamin told reporters at Juba International Airport on Saturday upon arrival from the United Arab Emirates.

Dr Benjamin said more investors from the United Arab Emirates seek to Invest in South Sudan.

“The encouragement of investment especially from the United Arab Emirates and other Middle East countries, there was a lot of interest at the Expo 2020 in which over 160 participated and South Sudan attracted more interest than any other country,” he said.

He said that president Kiir discussed a number of issues related to bilateral relations between South Sudan and UAE and how best to promote bilateral cooperation in various fields.

He said that President asked the UAE to support South Sudan in development, peace and stability,

He said President Kiir and his United Arab Emirate counterpart, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed bin Sultan discussed a number of issues related to bilateral relations between the two countries.

“Also United Arab Emirates was able to promise a lot of vaccines to the Republic of South Sudan in a fight against COVID-19,”

President Kiir left for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for a three-day working visit on Monday and return on Saturday April 23.
