New faces at Equator Broadcasting Corporation

The government of Central Equatoria State has made management changes at the Equator Broadcasting Corporation (EBC).

The reshuffle saw new faces at EBC while some traditional faces were dropped off while others were moved to various positions.

In the Tuesday changes announced by Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony, Oliver Modi Philips becomes the acting Managing Director.

The former Chairperson of the Union of Journalists of South Sudan (UJOSS), replaces Carlo Arigo Wani. Mr Wani is the new Chairperson of the state broadcaster, EBC.

Speaking to the Juba Echo team today, Oliver said his appointment came as a surprise.

“I feel happy that this appointment has come at the right time when the media in South Sudan needs people like myself. Equator Broadcasting Corporation needs my experience, knowledge and skills,” he said.

Top in his priority list is planning for the radio to find out the needs and challenges in the radio department.

He said he would do the same with the TV department before engaging board members and staff.

In the appointments, Governor Adil also issued  Gubernatorial Decrees relieving, establishing and appointing new members. The following is the list of the new changes:

 

(A)- Gubernatorial Decree No.01/2022 for the Relieve of Cde. Karlo Arigo Wani from his position as the Managing Director of Equator Broadcasting Corporation (EBC).

(B)- Gubernatorial Decree No.02/2022 for the Relieve of two Executive Directors of the Independent Commission as herein;

01- Cde. Gama Deodine Lubakare-Executive Director,  State Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation Commission.

02-Cde.Fred Lako-Executive Director,State Insurance Regulatory Authority.

(C)- Gubernatorial Decree No.03/022 for the Relieve of Cde. Francis Luwala Yuda Wani from his position as a Member of State Investment Authority/Corporation.

(D)- Gubernatorial Decree No.04/2022 for the Establishment and Appointment of the Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson for the State Land Commission as herein;

01- Cde. Fred Lako-Chairperson, State Land Commission

02- Cde. Jiki Alex Bon-Deputy Chairperson, State Land Commissions 

(E)- Gubernatorial Decree No.05/2022 for the Appointment of Cde. Gama Deodine Lubakare as an Executive Director, State Insurance Regulatory Authority.

(F)- Gubernatorial Decree No.06/2022 for the Appointment of Cde. Francis Luwala Yuda Wani as an Executive Director,State Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation Commission
