Kiir Urges Ethiopians to Reconcile No Matter Their Difference

South Sudan’s President His Excellency Salva Kiir Mayardit who also doubles as the Inter Governmental Authority on Development (IGAD) mediator to the Ethiopian Conflict in Tigray has urged Ethiopian’s to reconcile their differences.

He made the remarks yesterday while attending the inauguration of His Excellency Dr. Abiy Ahmed into his second term in office as the Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia according to a Press Statement from South Sudan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation seen by the Juba Echo.

“As Africans, the Solutions to our internal conflicts is to reconcile our differences no matter how deep rooted our differences have been” Kiir said.

South Sudan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation also acknowledges the proud and respected position Ethiopia  has earned as an economic and geopolitical power in the region.

“Given that historical and contemporary role, we express the commitment of our government as a member of the African Union (AU), to help Ethiopia overcome the challenges it faces along the path to greater peace , stability and prosperity” reads part of the statement.

Kiir concluded by striking a cordial tone of assuring Ethiopia of his endless commitment to cooperate on areas of mutual interests to benefit the two countries.
