Chinese national, South Sudanese killed along Juba – Terekeka road

At least two people including a Chinese national have reportedly been shot dead at Jebel Ladu, north of Juba City along Juba-Terekeka road.

Several reports indicate that the two deceased were road construction workers who have been assisting in roads’ construction along the highway.  

Monydhang Deng, the Central Equatoria State’s acting police commissioner confirmed the incident to Juba Echo this evening, citing that the assailants are still at large.   

“The incident happened at 10 am this morning (Wednesday) when unknown shot dead these two people. One is a Chinese national and the other one is a South Sudanese,” he explained.

“No one knows who killed them up to now,” Deng added in an interview on Wednesday evening.  

The Police official reiterated that the two were Shangdong Hi-Speed Company’s staff’ who were supporting road construction.

The reason behind the killing is yet to be known as the attackers have not been arrested.

Last week, unknown gunmen killed a senior medical doctor at Ganyiel area in Unity State.
