By Ruot George

As the Olympic games begin in China, the Asian nation’s ambassador to South Sudan is taking the games to another level, giving orphans in Juba to understand the games.

Over the weekend, ambassador Hua Ning, visited an orphanage home in the capital, Confident Children out of Conflict (CCC) to instill the spirit of the games in them.

The main purpose for choosing the orphanage home of 55 orphans is “to give them basic ideas on what it means and to inspire children to join sports and games although they will not visit China now,” Ning told reporters on the visit.

The visit on Sunday, under the theme, “together for a shared future,” was to celebrate the opening of the Olympics games with the orphans.

Set for Beijing, 300 million participants are expected to grace the games set for February 4th -20th.

It’s a gesture to promote world peace, harmony, solidarity and hope.

Accompanied by a group of Chinese medical doctors in South Sudan, Ambassador Ning said COVID-19 precautionary measures are well instituted.

“Seven years of preparations after winning the qualification for hosting the game. All constructions of facilities are complete and the timetable has been drawn,” Ning said.

“Although there is COVID -19 pandemic, the government of China is doing everything to ensure the safety of every athletes and participant.”

Ning gave the orphans gifts including Olympic medals, sport equipment and school bags.

He used the visit to celebrate China’s Lunar Tiger new year on January 31.

The Tiger symbolizes strengths and resilience among the Chinese.

The Director of Confident Children out of Conflict, Madam Hellen Boro appreciated the ambassador for the visit.

“I feel proud to see Chinese coming to see us on the first year of their celebrations for their new year,” Boro said.
