Checkups introduces subscription plan to ease access to medication

Health organization Checkups Medical Centre has introduced a subscription fee of $120 per year for all potential clients in a move aimed at easing access to medication according to Igama Sunday Patrick, the General Manager for Checkups Medical Centre.

“The management introduces subscription fees to ease the affordability of quality health care. By subscription, anybody who pays $120 gets entitled to free diagnostics with that amount. You only buy the medications,” said Patrick.

Patrick said Checkups Medical Centre has established a premier one-stop shop medical Centre, noting that the facility offers X-ray, Ultrasound, ECG, extensive pharmacy, a modern laboratory and a dispatch unit for home services.

“Checkups Medical Centre comes here to provide quality, affordable health care services to the people of our country. This launch introduces “urgent care and dispatch services” that are not only limited to physical visits to the facility but also virtual,” he said.

Michael Mading, the Director-General for reproductive health at the national ministry of health said that public-private partnership in the health sector is essential to deliver much-needed services.

“If you see our public hospitals, we are lacking a lot of services that we need to provide. We encourage public-private partnership in health,” said Mading.

“The ministry of health is ready to support any private facility, we encourage private medical services in the country, and we encourage people to give services in the country,” he said.
