Central Equatoria State officials directed to deliver service.

The Governor of Central Equatoria State, Emmanuel Adil Anthony has directed officials to deliver service to the population.
“Our work as state authorities is to deliver service to our people at the grassroots level, we should work as a team to deliver to to achieve that, we should not only work as representatives of political parties,” said Adil while opening a three-day meeting of county commissioners and mayors in Juba on Wednesday.
He called for unity among state officials in order to ensure effective service delivery.
Adil directed county commissioners and executive directors to allow aid workers have unhindered access in their respective areas to ease service delivery especially to those in need.
He urged county commissioners to work with religious leaders to engage with the armed hold-out opposition groups to end violence in the state.
“Non-signatories to the peace agreement (the 2018 peace deal) pose serious threats to our people in the state, they have been ambushing and killing people on the roads. We need to bring them onboard such that we have total peace in the state,” said Adil.
He directed county commissioners and city mayors to streamline revenue collection and also ensure proper management of revenue.
Adil said his government is working to ensure a peaceful repatriation of cattle herders to their places of origin.
Meanwhile, Moro Isaac the Minister of Local Government and Law Enforcement, said the ongoing meeting will help strengthen relationship between county commissioners, mayors and local leaders of the state.
“The Commissioners/ Mayors forum is a landmark event for the Ministry of Local Government and Law Enforcement and our partner UNMISS. It provides us with a platform and opportunity to evaluate our approaches, interact and share experiences as local government of the state and our partners,” said Isaac.

She urged county commissioners and Juba City Council to work towards implementing the peace deal at the grassroots levels in order to enhance peace, security and development of their respective counties.
The meeting organized by Central Equatoria State in partnership with UNMISS Field office-Juba is aimed at enhancing capacity of county commissioners, mayors and executive directors in conflict mitigation, promote social cohesion, peaceful co-existence and support the full implementation of the 2018 South Sudan’s peace agreement.
