2 motorists killed in traffic accident on Juba-Torit road

Authorities in Eastern Equatoria State have confirmed that two motorists died in an accident along the Juba-Torit highway in Khor-Lagbata on Saturday.

“Yes, I got the information that there was a truck that had one rear light, it got to Khor Lahgbata at around 8 pm, then there were boys riding a motorcycle, their motorcycle collided with the vehicle. It’s believed that since the vehicle had one light on, the motorcycle riders thought it was another motorcycle that they were approaching.” Major Gen. The local official said the driver of the truck has been apprehended and detained at Torit central police station for further investigations.“The driver is at Torit Municipality Police Custody for investigation. The driver is an Eritrean citizen, aged 45 years old” Said Maj. Gen. Luny.

The dead have not been found with any identification documents.
