The elections scheduled for June is expected to witness contest for all offices including that of the president of the South Sudan’s Football Association.

South Sudan Football Association also deliberated on financial, administrative and looked at activities reports.

The South Sudan’s Football Association under the current leadership is credited with developing women’s football, setting up teams from under sixteen (16) up to the national team level for men.

It’s also pushing forward with the men’s football league however, the men’s league is not yet recognized by the world body FIFA because it doesn’t provide opportunity for at least eighteen teams to play each other home and away to get points and a champion be crowned.

Currently in South Sudan, the league has been split into groups of local teams, to try and cut down on travel costs.

Group winners will play each other to determine a national champion.
